Taiwan – day 3

I really could not wake up this morning. Studying till 1 in the morning everyday is not working. Yes, I am studying even on holiday. Slept all the way the theme park and woke up looking like a zombie. Oh well.

We had the Janfusun Fancyworld theme park all to ourselves, no queues at all. Kicking off the experience, my brother, cousin and I sat the Diving Machine G5. I nearly died, it was a vertical drop down into some hole. What was I thinking! Well, we sat it for a second time later on and trust me, it was scarier because we all knew what was coming. I screamed my lungs out but it was so awesome. For a period of time, I could actually feel my body lifting up from the seat.

After which, we explored the theme park and sat on the other rides. Scream and shout and let it all out.

Next, the second highlight of the day, the Sky Jet. It was a dare from my cousins and I stupidly went, even though I am terrified of heights. Or rather, the feeling of falling. However, the adrenaline was there so I said yes, only to regret when I got on the ride. Well, the ascend up was slow. But at the top, the view was beautiful. Then, there was the usual sudden drop and things are not so nice there after. My cousin and I, held each other’s hands tightly and screamed our lungs out. It was so fast moving I had no idea when I was going up and when I was going down. Finally it was over, short lived but fun.

That sums up the morning at the theme park. Off to 安平古堡. This fort is almost all gone and there is only one bit of it left. Nonetheless, I enjoyed learning about the history of it. Quite a serene place.

Next, we headed off the the old street outside the fort museum, known as an ping street. We got prawn crackers and random goodies as souvenirs. Somewhere down the road, I saw a shop filled with oysters. There, there was a group of ladies washing the oysters. Now, that is something you do not see everyday.

To end off, we ended up in another night market – Liu he night market. Endless rows of food stalls greeted us and we tugged right in to the super duper good food. (I am pretty sure I will grow fat by the end of this trip.) This street is famous for it’s teochew seafood porridge, egg noodles and papaya milk shake. I must say, being a lover of papaya milk shake, that is the best one I have ever tasted. Yes, I am working on those boobies. Joking joking, I just like papaya milk shake. Oh, and those quail eggs with prawns are superb. I will go for a second helping anytime. Another great day with great food.
